Small in number, but big in support
It was organised as a silent protest, in support of the victims of child abuse and their whanau, and given that there were only a handful of people they made a powerful point.
"With only a day or two's notice we didn't expect a big turnout," organiser Lissa Kingi-Waiaua said, "but the main thing was to show our presence and support."
"We met up with a few of the whanau, supporters, Te Hiku Mana Party staff and reporters at the courthouse, and it was good to see that many people within our community support this kaupapa.
"I met a few people who said they had been waiting for something like this to happen, waiting for someone to take that initial step.
