Springbank School has once again staged its annual public fireworks display on the school grounds, for the seventh year.
What has now become a tradition was originally initiated by Louise Huett, a former chairperson of Friends of Springbank, the first event attracting 800 spectators.
Since then the Friends committee has developed it into an impressive spectacle, which over the last two years has attracted crowds of up to 2500.
At least that number turned out this year, with the pre-fireworks attractions including a wide variety of food stalls, a band, a bouncy castle, raffles and activities to keep everyone entertained while it got dark.
