Twelve swimmers from Kaitaia Swimming Club attended the Spring Championship three-day carnival in Kawakawa recently, and for some of them it was their first big meet.
Overall, the club secured a total of 20 medals as well as a number of ribbons for 4th, 5th and 6th places, while all swimmers achieved personal bests during the weekend.
Many thanks went to the parents who helped with team managing and timekeeping while a big thank you in particular went to competitive coach Aaron McCloy for his efforts throughout the year.
