Terrible weather may have kept plenty away from the Explore Paihia Half Marathon and 12km run/ walk on Sunday, although organisers reported the event was still a well-attended success in spite of the conditions.
Of the initial 500-plus entries, only an estimated 150 fronted in the end, but spokesman Ed Lyman noted this certainly didn't prevent the after-party at Thirty30 from "going off!"
He also congratulated all the winners whose names will be engraved on the event's amazing trophies, which were carved by Ngawha Prison inmates, and everyone else who took part in this second staging of the event.
