Another knock

I am so upset having learned that Specsavers are closing. My letter to you is the best way of protest I know. A knock to our lovely town we could well do without.

Ringing Specsavers last week, I was told there were no appointments for a week before I could see the optometrist. Placing me on the cancellation of appointment list I received a call four working days later.

Sitting waiting in the clinic, I heard the phone answered several times. Sorry, no, we have no appointments available for a week.

What is going on here? It's crazy. The staff of five is so busy. I asked then if it were true or just a rumour. Yes, I was told. Little old Kaitaia is not earning enough money for the overseas firm.

Well Specsavers, I have an excellent solution. Drop your million-dollar TV advertisements (even though they make us laugh), thereby retaining our Kaitaia branch and our eyesight by shutting Kerikeri.

Their clients are only one hour from Whangarei, or they could use the five other opposition optometrists in Kerikeri and Waipapa.

VISION ANY CLEARER?
