Inaction totally wrong
I totally support your editorial 'Council must try harder' (November 8) regarding holding those responsible for trashing our beautiful Far North, especially when the council has evidence.
To say it costs too much to prosecute, is totally wrong, because if folk are not held responsible, and there are no consequences for their actions, how is the council supposed to control this?
It is hard to come forward and report incidences of dumping when there is no outcome plus the likelihood of your name being mentioned, which is what happens.
This produces venom in communities, and it is amplified when the council won't prosecute.
