Amazed

Maybe I'm amazed. For the first time, walking from the Kaitaia library along the nice new footpath on Matthews' Ave to The Warehouse carpark there was no litter or other rubbish to pick up along the way.

So congratulations to everyone who held on to their rubbish until they could put it in a bin, and thank you to everyone who picks up litter and rubbish when they see it and puts it in a bin. Appreciated.

Visually it's most pleasing to see our public places clean and green. It is even more pleasing for the long-term environmental aspect.

A note to the Te Hiku Community Board. The footpath is still not finished. It is still a rough track at the northern end, and there is a rough patch where the pedestrian crossing adjoins.
