The editorials are always worth reading, and almost always spot on. And the letters 'page' is definitely more interesting than any other in the country. It lacks only a thoroughbred racing column.
I have paid a year's subscription to the online version of The Northland Age. That means I buy every copy, unlike those who live locally but don't always do so. And, for these reasons, I reckon I'm entitled to write as many letters as I like when I feel the urge.
And the same goes for others who get the online version.
Be pleased, Bill, that you live where you are served by the best newspaper in New Zealand.
The editorial of January 24 is an illustrative example of why.
Marriage is the public permanent commitment of a husband and a wife to each other and to their children.
The best thing a man can do for his children is to marry their mother, and love her visibly.
