So much to love in our town

So many people in the Far North have taken offence to a lot of the media's portrayal of our fantastic town Kaitaia, which started the hashtag, #ilovekaitaia and also Facebook pages full of comments from all the wonderful people of our town.

Here are but a few of the volunteers who make our town so awesome - fire brigade, St John ambulance, lifeguards, Hospice, churches and youth groups, sports coaches including swimming, athletics, gymnastics, netball, basketball, badminton, soccer, softball, rugby, all of which are run by passionate parents who want to see their kids excel.

We have pre-school groups, also run by volunteers in Kaitaia, Mainly Music groups, pre-school gymnastics, playcentres, and playgroups to name a few.

Kaitaia is surrounded by ocean. We have the West Coast 15 minutes' drive and the East Coast 20 minutes' drive. We have access to seafood beyond belief - crayfish, tuatua, kina, paua, cockles and fish abound in the beautiful Far North.

The people of Kaitaia love living here. Some may venture overseas, but oh so many of them come home to the Far North they know and love.

Our town is so friendly, the people are always helping one another, how can we not love Kaitaia.
