Blown away

Recently Rangiputa Rural Fire Force purchased a defibrillator for use at Rangiputa and during fire call-outs, if needed. To raise the money that was needed to purchase the defibrillator, we visited all the businesses in Kaitaia and asked for donations.

The fire members and I were blown away by the reception we received. They couldn't do enough for us.

Using the donations from the businesses allowed us to run three fundraisers at the community hall at Rangiputa. We ran a batons up night, country and western night and a kai cooker night. That was well supported by the residents and holiday home owners of the Karikari Peninsula.

Without the support of all of these people small communities and volunteer organisations would not survive.
