Kaitaia's Matriarchal Tinsel Taggers not so quietly made their way from one end of the town's main street to the other on Tuesday evening, attaching Christmas decorations to the tree surrounds.
It took a bit longer than expected, Tiri Murphy (PKF Francis Aickin) said, because they had had to stop at the Bushman's Hut for refreshments and a platter.
Tiri, Shirley Williams (Kaitaia Business Association), Nina Gobie (Far North District Council) and Serenity Taniwha (Make it Happen Te Hiku) were still finished well before dark though, and had plenty of time to spread some festive spirit elsewhere. Or perhaps to grab another platter.
