A local mother and her son both returned good results at the North Kaipara A&P Show held from January 31 to February 1.
The pair travelled down to compete in the Inhand Welsh classes, where 7-year-old Codi Desmond and his pony came away with Reserve Champion Welsh Exhibit on Mangakaraa Ice Blue; while mum Emma won the Welsh Yearling Class with Mangakaraa Nimbus.
The two ponies also placed runners-up in the Breeders Group class, which recognised Mangakaraa Pony Stud owned by Herekino locals Don and Beth Knight.
Both Emma and Codi also led both ponies to success at the recent Kaikohe A&P Show, with Mangakaraa Ice Blue winning Champion Led Pony and Mangakaraa Nimbus winning Reserve Champion Led Pony.
