The public will again get the chance to take part in the 2011 Westpac Halberg Awards by selecting their 'Favourite Sporting Moment' from a shortlist of six moments of sporting action.

'New Zealand's Favourite Sporting Moment', brought to you by High Performance Sport New Zealand, was introduced by the Halberg Trust last year with the twin aims of engaging the public more closely with New Zealand's pre-eminent sports awards and enhancing awareness of the Trust's disability sport work.

One voter will win four tickets to the Westpac Halberg Awards (including accommodation and travel) and will be hosted by event partner High Performance Sport New Zealand (HPSNZ), a new subsidiary of SPARC, responsible for developing and supporting the country's elite athletes so we have more winners on the world stage.

Halberg Trust Chief Executive, Steve Hall, says public response to 'New Zealand's Favourite Sporting Moment' in the voting process last year exceeded expectations.

Voting for 'New Zealand's Favourite Sporting Moment' opens today (Wednesday 28 December) and can be made via text or online at www.skysport.co.nz Voting closes at 12pm on Thursday 09 February, the day of the Westpac Halberg Awards. For full voting details visit www.skysport.co.nz
