The Dive Inn Whangaruru team continued their winning streak beating Marist Social in Whangarei Premier Reserve Grade matches over the weekend.
Whangaruru won 49-34 on Saturday, with Lettica Shelford in defence combining well with Harriett Hardy in midcourt to get some great intercepts and Sophie Tua and Liz Taylor on attack working well through court and into the circle.
Marist Social's Adrienne Wong had a strong driving game showing tenacity at wing attack. Vanessa McKenzie at goal attack also had a good game moving and shooting well and the defensive unit of Maria Easterbrook and Frances Coutts combined well to make it tough for Whangaruru.
Fideliter 2 continued their winning streak with a 41-33 victory over Wahine Toa Combined. Fideliter 2's Lisa Dangern at goal shoot had an accurate game and Kellie Metcalf, Amy Condon and Freda Whiu-Hemara did some great work in the midcourt to feed their circle.
The defence also worked hard creating a lot of turnovers.
Wahine Toa Combined team's Raina Doar had an outstanding game in defence. Cherri Neho, playing first at goal defence and then wing attack, also had a strong game as did Anya Ruri who showed real class at centre and wing defence. Kiri Williams also had a good game especially as it was her first appearance at goal attack. She was well supported by the accurate shooting of Elaine Ross.
In the final game of the day Wahine Toa 1 recovered from their loss the previous week to nab a 57-38 win over Fideliter 3. Wahine Toa 1's Stacey Te Puni showed good driving and attacking ability in midcourt and Jaelyn Walker had a strong game firstly in the circle on attack, then defence.
Fideliter 3's Andi Roberts played an outstanding game in defence and Louise Morgan worked tirelessly in midcourt.
