The Whangarei Racing Club will hold the 91.6 More FM Friday Race Day tomorrow.
This will be the second Friday that the club will race in 2011.
An eight-race programme has been planned with the first race to start at 12.30pm.
The race with the largest stake is the Calders Design and Print rated 90 1400m race worth $15,000. Some class gallopers will be battling for supremacy and they include Shandream and Shanstar both previous winners at Ruakaka and the Logan trained and owned Ace High a multiple-winning course specialist.
Just before 4pm the 91.6 More FM 2100m race with a stake of $13,000 will go round.
This is probably going to be the most exciting race of the day.
Last starters at Ruakaka, Govind-trained by Waipu's Ricky Wells and Uncle Shayne, trained by Donna and Dean Logan, fought to the very last with Uncle Shayne just getting the better of Govind who had a bold front run right to the post.
Two popular Ruakaka trainers with some well-known owners in the racing and business circles of the region will be doing a lot of cheering from the sidelines tomorrow at 4pm.
Track and weather conditions for the meeting look good and the club are looking forward to hosting another good crowd at the Ruakaka Race Course.
