Northland's under-19 national representative, Kurtley Watson, hasn't been able to make the field so far in the ICC Under-19 World Cup due to an injury.
While the Kiwi side has failed to make the main draw of the competition in Dubai, it's not all over for Watson and his teammates just yet.
The 19-year-old Maungakaramea cricketer will have another chance to take to the field tomorrow when New Zealand take on Papua New Guinea in the ninth place play-off quarter-final.
New Zealand were relegated to the second-tier plate competition earlier last week when England beat them by 115 runs in the final Group D match.
So far in the World Cup, Papua New Guinea have remained winless after their three pool play matches.
