Whangarei firefighters smoked the opposition to win both grades at the service's national volleyball competition.
Eight teams battled it out during the two-day competition, but it was the two Whangarei teams who took advantage of home courts at Kensington Stadium to win the A and the B divisions.
Whangarei easily beat the North Shore team in the A final 2-0, while it was a hotly contested B final, with Whangarei edging out their Tauranga counterparts 2-1.
A team of Whangarei volunteers finished third in the B grade while Kamo volunteers collected the wooden spoon.
Event organiser Scott Kitchen said the tournament was a success and was rounded off with a social event at the Whangarei Fire Station.
