Visiting Sprintcars and TQs clocked some impressive speeds at the Whangarei Saloon and Stockcar Club's meeting at the Port Rd track.
The fastest Sprintcars were unofficially clocked at 14.5 seconds around the track on Sunday, making them the quickest class of cars seen on the track for some time.
Auckland's Jeremy Halpin won two of the three races to win the class from Tauranga's Danny Lee, while Auckland's Ryan Barry won the TQs.
In one of the highlights of the normal club competition, Whangarei's Shane Hannam didn't let poor grid position keep him from winning the Limited Trophy Dash, powering through the field to win two out of three races in a well contested field.
