Whangarei's Jacinda McLeod is making the most of her hockey scholarship at Boston University.
McLeod's recent form for the Terriers university side saw her named the America East Field Hockey Rookie of the Week.
Last week she slotted two goals and added a late defensive save in the Terriers' 3-1 win at Harvard, and on Saturday at home against New Hampshire, McLeod and the BU defence prevented the Wildcats from recording a shot in the second half, allowing the Terriers to score two late goals and come away with a 2-1 come-from-behind victory.
Boston remain undefeated in conference play.
After 14 games, McLeod is tied for third on the Terriers in scoring with 13 points with five goals and three assists. She leads the team in game-winning goals with three.
The Junior Black Stick player remained in the United States following the Under-21 World Cup in August to take up the scholarship at Boston, where she is enrolled in the College of General Studies.
