U-16 hockey champions

A proud and triumphant Northland under-16 hockey squad after taking out the National Under-16 Premier Girls' Hockey title at Auckland recently. Garby Smith, Hannah Nink, Ashleigh Malcolm, Melissa Simpson, Elley Miller, Arnica Palmer, Brooke Johnson, Brooke Robert, Kristie Wallace, Kelly Dempster, Nicola Bilton, Chelsea Beazley, Nita Sullivan, Samaria Tugaga, Courtney Phillips, Svea Hinnueber were part of the team coached
by Rana Vette and Laura Douglas who progressed to Saturday's grand final unbeaten and kept their record intact, defeating Manawatu 2-0 to earn the New Zealand title. Nink, Malcolm, Tugaga, Beazley, Hinnueber and Miller were also named in the Northland National Hockey League team to compete in the September tournament.
