Samantha Warriner's final triathlon before the Oympics, tomorrow's Kitzb?hel BG Triathlon World Cup race, could hardly be more different from conditions she will strike in Beijing.
Usually known as a skier's paradise, Kitzb?hel isn't exactly beset by the soaring summer temperatures and the humidity that the Olympic triathletes will strike in Beijing.
Nevertheless, Warriner and her two Kiwi Olympic teammates, Andrea Hewitt and Debbie Tanner, will use the race as their final competitive race before the big event - exactly four weeks before the medal race in Beijing.
No fewer than 18 women heading to Beijing will compete in the Austrian race before settling into their pre-Olympic camps.
Warriner is one of the top-ranked athletes in the field and her main competition will come from Aussie Erin Densham, who took silver in the World Cup race in Ishigaki, German Christiane Pilz, and Austrian Eva Dollinger, who looks to repeat last year's success at her home event.
