The year just keeps getting better for Northland swimmer Hayley McIntosh.
Last month, McIntosh, 17, was named in a 10-strong team to contest the biennial Junior Pan Pacific Championships in Hawaii. McIntosh will swim in the 400m and 800m freestyle.
The Whangarei Girls' High School student, who swims out of the Northwave club, has now been named in a squad that will develop swimmers that the sport's parent body deem capable of success at the Tokyo 2020 Olympic Games.
Swimming New Zealand has named a 35-strong Tokyo 2020 squad with a 14/21 female/male split.
Membership of the Tokyo 2020 Squad will give McIntosh access to full high performance support - including sports medicine, sports science and career development services - at the AUT Millennium Centre on Auckland's North Shore,
