SURFING - Young surfers excel at Piha

Three Northland region surfers excelled during the weekend's final event of the Rip Curl GromSearch held at Piha Beach, Auckland.
Manu Scott-Arrieta was the highest placed of the surfers when he secured third in the under-12 boys' division. He was the youngest in the final at 10 years of age.
The Moretti brothers from Mimiwhangata - Joe and Paul - both made it to the semi-finals of the under-16 and under-14 divisions respectively and both placed fifth overall.
