REX AND Katie Murray are expecting a big crowd, and not just at Bloemfontein in South Africa where their son Bronson is poised to make his official debut as a Super 14 rugby player.
The crowd the Murrays are worried about is the one likely to gather at their place in Herekino in the early hours of Sunday morning to watch live television coverage of the Blues playing the Cheetahs in the Super 14 rugby competition.
The Murrays made sure they had Sky television installed the moment they knew their 26-year-old son had been picked for his debut season at Super 14 level.
But it has taken a bit of patience to finally see their boy stride on to the big stage.
Blues coach David Nucifora is sticking with the same forward pack that has started the first two championship games so far this season, but left an opening for Murray to come on to the reserves bench.
It seems certain though that Murray will get game time at tighthead prop on Sunday. "We did think through all the options of changing people and giving people a run. This is probably the beauty of coming to Africa so early. In the past we have had players more jaded coming over here later in the year.
"But we are fresh and injury free. We thought continuity was the most important thing at the moment. We will worry about resting players and giving players a go later in the season," Nucifora said.
"Two good wins (so far) is a very good feeling in the whole group. They are very positive on what they did last week. At the moment the starting 15 is going well, and we want to keep that going," he said.
"We need to use the reserves bench probably a bit more. So we will see some more use of players off the bench, depending on the conditions and how the game is panning out."
Murray is one of three changes made to the Blues squad to play the Cheetahs on Sunday morning. He slips on to the bench in place of Nick White.
In other changes, Anthony Boric comes on to the bench instead of Bryn Evans, and Rudi Wulf gets the start on the wing ahead of Anthony Tuitavake.
Wulf's elevation to the run-in 15 means David Nucifora has stuck with virtually the same players for the third week in a row, opting for maintaining continuity over rotation to try and keep an impressive early momentum rolling. The game will be played at 4am NZ time on Sunday.
