With the Christmas cakes well and truly digested, it's time for Northland squash players to burn them off as they whack their way into 2013.
The first tournament of the year was held in Kaitaia last weekend, with 66 players descending on the Far North, coming from as far away as Hamilton.
Northland's weather played its part as players were forced to rethink their game plans and play to the extra bounce of the ball.
With many of the squash players also playing tennis on the Saturday, the club was buzzing with players of both codes mixing and mingling.
