Sport across Northland is set for a big two days as top of the table clashes and must-win matches coincide this weekend.
Football's second and third ranked teams, Tikipunga and Kamo, in the premier men's competition meet in a must-win clash for both sides as they look to keep within striking distance of the table-topping Kerikeri side.
Both sides are coming into the clash with some good football under their belts, with Kamo beating Madhatters 6-0 last weekend and Tikipunga narrowly losing to Kerikeri 2-1, which should lead to a tense and entertaining match.
In rugby, this weekend also sees the Bayleys Southern Districts Premier Competition crack into its second round of competition, kicking off with a top of the table clash between Kamo and Mid Northern.
Mid Northern will be up against it as Kamo looks to put on a good show during what will double as a fundraiser for the New Zealand Breast Cancer Foundation as Kamo will wear special pink and white-hooped jerseys, which will see the number 20 jersey raffled after the game.
