NORTH Force's classy win over Glenfield Rovers last week has put something of a spring in their step ahead of their first away game at Hibiscus Coast tomorrow.
Coach Dean Wheatley said the win had created "a bit of a buzz around town, it was a huge result and we've had a lot of good feedback since then".
He said there had been plenty of tired bodies after the match but no injuries and the squad would be further strengthened by the return of Sammy Oso this weekend.
Oso, who has missed pre-season training through work, will probably play for the reserves and feature from the bench during the first team's game.
Hibiscus Coast, who played a division lower than North Force in the Northern League last season, also had a good start to the season with a win over Western Oratia United last week.
"We don't really know what to expect from them, so we're going to have to play the way we want to play and hopefully we'll bring the three points home," Wheatley said.
In the other premier grade matches Albany United host Birkenhead, Waitakere City host Takapuna, and North Shore United are at home to Western Oratia.
A decision from the United Soccer 1 board is due to be released sometime today on the appeals of three of the league's clubs: East Coast Bays, Waitakere and Takapuna, who still want to join the new Northern Premier League.
The board, which turned down their original applications, has been forced to hear their appeals after New Zealand Football intervened.
