Shooting: Northland secondary school claim honours

Several Northland shooters distinguished themselves at the National Secondary Schools' Clayshooting Championships in Christchurch, and the South Island Championships, which preceded the nationals.

Whangarei Boys' High School's Mason Reed won the boys' High Overall Skeet title and Danica Radich of Whangarei Girls' High won the girls' High Overall Skeet title.

Aroha Heta of Whangaroa College won the South Island High Overall Single Rise title and also collected first prize in the girls' Single Barrel title.

The Northland representative team won the Fish and Game regions teams match, with Andrew Caldwell-Smith of WBHS winning High Overall Individual.

WBHS's team won the 2012 Killwell Gamebore Interschool Postal Shoot.
