THE country's top secondary school sailors from all over the country came to Parua Bay last week to compete in the 2008 Secondary School National Team's racing competition.
The final of the gold medal competition was won by Tauranga Boys' College, who beat Mahurangi College by a single race to pick up the overall title.
Maclean's College of Auckland was third, with Westlake Boys High School, also of Auckland, fourth.
Kerikeri High School and Whangarei Boys' High School also made it into the gold fleet but did not qualify for the final.
Napier Girls' won the girls' final, also held on Friday, beating Nelson College for Girls and Westlake Girls High School, who were tied for second.
New Plymouth Girls' High School came in fourth.
St Kentigern's College won the silver fleet, ahead of the Cook Islands, with Auckland Grammar and New Plymouth Boys' High School tied for third.
