A Far North cowboy has clinched the 2011-12 champion saddle bronc title at the New Zealand Rodeo national finals.
Te Hapua's Ramoan Neho - who also won the saddle bronc event at Peria earlier this year - won the open division title during the national championships in Lawrence, South Otago, with a score of 207/3.
The 21-year-old, who works in Australia's Northern Territory in the off season, welcomed his first national title with a quiet "I'm really stoked, eh".
Three other members of the Far North's Oruru Valley Rodeo Club came away with titles.
Mat Lanigan of Kaitaia won the rookie rope and tie, while Ken Dromgool of Paihia paired up with Miro Parsonson of Kaitaia to win the rookie team roping heading and heeling titles respectively.
