I think everyone is aware of where we went wrong last week.Cliff Dickeson
Northern Spirit cricket coach Cliff Dickeson believes a good performance against the Otago Sparks at Cobham Oval this weekend will help them to a strong national league position.
"I think everyone is aware of where we went wrong last week and they're raring to make amends this weekend," he said.
Otago won one 50-over match and lost one last week - the same as ND managed against CD - and this weekend's games are looming as potentially season defining encounters.
"We're in a good position to do well against these guys - you never like to be too confident but if we bowl the way we did in that first game on Saturday and then bat the way we did on Sunday, there's no reason to believe we won't do very well," he said.
The Spirit begin their domestic programme this evening, with a Twenty20 match against Otago at 4pm, followed by two 50-over matches tomorrow and Sunday.
