Wahine Toa 3 are the premier reserve champions with a win over Takahiwai 45-38.

Except for strong first and final quarters by Takahiwai, the rest of the game went Wahine Toa 3's way.

Wahine Toa 3 were provided with some tight defensive work with the Te Iringa sisters - Leah, Harona and Te Mania at goal keep, goal defence and wing defence. The sisters also assisted with bringing the ball through the court with speed.

Sharleen Wikaire at wing attack fed the circle well and Ivy Te Nana at centre added maturity in her drives to the circle edge.

The mother and daughter combination of Barbara Te Whare and Telitha Everitt, at goal shoot and goal attack respectively, held their ground well to draw a number of penalties and they positioned themselves well for the feeders.

For Takahiwai, defender Ann Marie Lambly played a consistent and strong game at goal keep for most of the game and then wing defence. In the mid court Rochelle Wihongi, mainly in centre, helped get some precise ball into the shooters.

Kaylah Chapman at goal attack the whole game and Teri Tito into goal shoot later in the game had some nice phases of play and some good shots at goal. And the introduction of Francida Doak, playing up from Takahiwai 2 into firstly wing attack for a quarter and then into goal keep for the final quarter, provided maturity and experience to the game.

In the game to determine third and fourth places, Educare North Fideliter 2 had a comprehensive win over Wahine Toa 2 54-34. Except for a strong second quarter which they won, Wahine Toa 2 just weren't in it. Fideliter 2 had a very strong last quarter which they won by 10 goals.

The game for fifth and sixth was much closer with Craig's Firestone Marist 1 just scraping home over Pizza Barn BBC Waipu 43-41. Marist 1 won three of the quarters but the young BBC were always in the hunt and they won the third quarter by four goals to bring them very close to Marist 1. This was a good performance by the young team who were missing some of their regular players.
