Premier Reserve Treewise Marist Old Girls have again showed what a threat they are when the beat Takahiwai 60-30 in the latest premier reserve round.

For Marist Old Girls, all the defence including Kelly Middleton, Helen Francis and Rose Parker, had great games with multiple intercepts and turnover ball.

In mid court, Vicki Taylor was the pick of the players providing some excellent feeding into the circle and finding space. Takahiwai had a good first half in that they played as a team and overall the shooters Teri Tito and Koea Kaka played well. Kaylah Chapman in defence also played well and picked up a number of intercepts. Takahiwai like WGHS 1 in premiers is in rebuild mode with a mixed age group and experience of players.

Wahine Toa 3 also had another win but Educare Fideliter 2 did lead the game for most of it and it was only in the final quarter that Wahine Toa 3 showed the discipline required to pull ahead. They won 49-44. For Wahine Toa 3 the group of three Te Iringa sisters, Te Mania, Harona and Leach played a dynamic defensive game - they also provided drive and strength on attack.

At the other end of the court Telitha Everitt at goal attack combined with the experienced Maria Dick at goal shoot to dominate, especially in the second half of the game.

For Fideliter 2 the defence was put to work against the well drilled Wahine Toa shooters. In mid court, Renee Lowther had a solid game feeding the circle well and disrupting the Wahine Toa attacking play. Tina Cachemaille at goal shoot positioned well, creating space under the goal for some easy ball. She also finished well with some nice shots.

Craigs Firestone Marist 1 had a good win over Educare Fideliter 3 winning 42-30 however at half time the score was very close with Marist 1 only ahead by 2 goals. For Marist 1 Frances Coutts at goal keep worked hard defensively getting numerous tips and rebounds, and she combined well with Rebecca Simper at goal defence.

Amy Eager played a strong game at centre linking both ends of the court and she was ably assisted by Karen Compton at wing defence. Germaine Gibson at goal shoot added height in the goal circle and she combined well with Jaimee Dunn at goal attack.

For Fideliter 3 Kelly Stevens at goal keep impressed and she was ably assisted by Anna Pascoe at goal defence and Lou Morgan at wing defence. Kelly Bowen in mid court worked hard to create space for the shooters who moved well.
