This weekend's Filter HQ Super Modified 30-lapper to be held at the Whangarei Speedway has been cancelled.
The event, which was known as one of the main drawcards for the speedway season, has been postponed until February 1.
The next event to take place at the speedway will be the Mini Stocks Best Pairs competition on January 18.
After the first weekend of speedway racing this season, Whangarei Speedway club president Peter Blacklock asked Northlanders to get behind the sport after a quiet opening weekend.
Blacklock also invited Northlanders to get involved with the sport, adding that they could sign up to the C grade - which is an introductory type class - for next-to-no money as cars were not hard to get hold of.
