For some, being able to drive into the the centre of Hamilton's temporary street circuit, park up and watch the action unfold from the back of the car is a dream come true - for others, it is more a nightmare.
For Chris and Melissa Pattenden, from Kamo, it is simply reality. Chris and his wife must spend three days in a brand new Holden Colorado parked within the entertainment hub of the inside of the circuit.
When Chris entered a nationwide radio competition two weeks ago, he never expected to win but when another contestant failed to answer the phone in time, the opportunity fell to him.
If they can go three days without moving away from the car, the couple will win $5000 of air travel from Cathay Pacific - although, sadly, not the brand new car.
"I'm thinking of going to Hong Kong to watch the rugby but think I might send Melissa off to Rarotonga," said Chris.
The couple must stay within a few metres of the car over the duration of the Hamilton 400, around 6pm tomorrow.
They are provided with food and drink by the organisers and look forward to getting home with their prize plus V8 Supercar merchandise from the event for their sons, Ashton (12) and Kelvin (8) back home in Kamo.
