Moerewa giving Kaeo plenty of respect paid off in spades as they buried them deep in the Simson Park turf 36-3.
Despite a 12-3 lead at the break, the Bay of Islands' best on-field rugby brain Chic Prime told his side to "show their defence the respect it deserves" and to do the ground work before releasing Moerewa's potent backline.
When Prime speaks, his players listen.
While in the other huddle, Kaeo's Billy Pawa was pleading with his side to show the opposition no respect, angry that the forwards had not been in the game.
But Moerewa had Kaeo's number from the first whistle. Half-back Damian Tana made the most from the base of a 5m scrum to slam the ball down. Anthony George added the conversion, 7-0, before Steven Watene crossed for Moerewa's second.
Moerewa then ran in four second-half tries - a prime example of a little respect going a long way.
Edward Pieta and Peter Watene scored a try-a-piece; while Steven Watene added his second and Prime was left the honour of scoring the last when his 40m run led to a scrum and a forward pack that could not be stopped.
The Moerewa pack dominated and bullied the Kaeo scrum with the front row of Anthony Ngawati, Pieta and Robert Williams having too much power with better technique.
Hari Ngawati was faster to the breakdown - Ngawati, especially, focused on pressuring Kaeo's first-five Quin Butler - while Prime led by example, as always.
Rangy lock Jamie Andersen continues to impress in tight and with ball in hand, while there were no better than Steven Watene's pace and power, and Reece Tenana from full-back.
"They are just too big, too good today," Kaeo Club president Robbie Ball said, with all hopes of a repeat of the first-round Kaeo upset gone.
Joe Parkinson at No.8 looked the best of Kaeo's eight, while Butler stood head-and-shoulders above his back-line despite plenty of attention.
Moerewa respect Prime's advice and defeat Kaeo
