A five-wicket haul by Onerahi-Central bowler Josh Matthews shattered any hopes City had of reining in their rivals in the Northland Premier Grade two-day competition.
Matthews and Gareth Blithe returned to the crease on Saturday at Cobham Oval, to build on the 156 runs Onerahi made last week on the first day, after bowling City out for the same total.
The duo helped to stretch Onerahi's total to 212 in 77 overs, with the City bowlers not having much luck with the ball.
After failing to find momentum with the bat in the first innings, City did not fare any better in their second stint.
Matthews was on a path of destruction, wiping out the top order and claiming the wickets of Chris Page, Owain Hopkins, Ian Page and Bert Horner.
He bowled 14 overs and finished the innings with five wickets for 50 runs on a pitch that favoured the bowlers. He claimed the wicket of tail-ender Jamie Kay to complete his best haul of the season.
Onerahi's exceptional bowling effort saw City all out for a meagre 127 in just 39 overs, leaving plenty of time for their rivals to chase down the necessary 71 to win.
Despite a challenge with the ball from Tim Anderson, who took 2/17, and Hopkins, who claimed 2/31, Onerahi reached their target with six wickets to spare.
Meanwhile, Whangarei Boys' High professional Richard Kaufman also had a stellar day with the ball, bagging 8/41 in a one-sided match against a depleted Kamo outfit.
WBHS declared last week at 282/8 and Kamo returned to bat at their home pitch on Saturday, chasing the formidable total.
Derrick Bon top-scored with 39 not out in the first innings, helping Kamo to 118 before they were forced to follow on.
Kamo No 3 batsman Curtis Cherrington looked capable of making WBHS bat again, scoring at a good rate to reach 60 before Alex Seymour knocked his stumps over.
Skipper Jamie Millar topped up the run rate, hitting 26 and Kamo made another 118, but fell short of the mark by an innings and 46 runs.
Kaipara Flats hosted Maungakaramea and had a 26-run advantage after the first innings. After 51 overs and impressive shots from batsmen Michael O'Flaherty and Ben Thompson, who both scored half centuries, the hosts declared at 179/4.
Maungakaramea's batsmen struggled against some tight bowling from Tauseef Satti (2/27), Matthew Taylor (2/25) and Mark Dellow (2/12).
The visitors ran out of time and ended the day on 93/6, still 115 runs short of victory.
The match was drawn, with Kaipara taking first innings points.
