Mangapai's premier women's hockey team had its best result of the season in round 12, losing 2-1 to Whangarei Girls' High School. Mangapai's season has had little to write home about so far, suffering 12 losses and conceeding 99 goals. But, on the weekend, they came close to nabbing theirfirst points. In other premier women's results, Old Girls won 3-2 over Springfield while Maungakaramea won 5-0 over Hikurangi. Meanwhile in the premier men's competition, Maungakaramea and Springfield held each other to a 1-all draw. The draw was each team's fourth of the season from 12 games in total. In other premier men's results from the weekend, Bream Bay were easy victors over Mangapai 6-2.
