The Moerewa Tigers have won their bid in the boardroom to play in the Whangarei and Districts Rugby League playoffs at Toll Stadium tomorrow.
Moerewa were docked two points for fielding an ineligible player by the league's organising committee, pushing them just outside the top four and, therefore, a playoff berth.
Officials from the club met with the board of the Whangarei and Districts Rugby League on Monday to get them to reverse the decision but, after deliberation, the decision to dock the points was upheld.
The club then took up the right of appeal to the New Zealand Rugby League and the appeal was held at 2pm yesterday in Auckland.
The NZRL found in their favour and the Tigers will now play minor premiers Hikurangi Stags in the playoff between first and second at 2.30pm. With the two extra points the Tigers had the same number of points as Hokianga Pioneers but had better points differential.
