Even a severe weather warning didn't dampen the spirit of the Marist Manaia under-6s rugby league team playing the curtain raiser at Mt Smart recently against the Manurewa Marlins. Marist lost 6-5.
The Junior Rugby League Committee organised a bus and two vans to travel to the exciting Warriors v Storm game making it an affordable day out for the families associated with the junior league club.
Due to the weather, the under-8s who attended were called upon to fill in for the Bay of Islands team unable to get through to Auckland.
This event was sponsored by Manaia View School who provided the bus and SKIP (Parent and Family Counselling) who sponsored the meal.
