LEAGUE - Gala day for youngsters

THE Whangarei and Districts Junior rugby league is holding a gala day for children interested in playing this year at the Blue Goose ground (Otaika Park) on March 30, starting at 10am.
The competition has launched the careers of a number of professional league players and kicks off on April 6, with under-6, 8, 10, 12 and 14 age-groups.
Registrations will be taken on April 6 from 10am.
The call has gone out for mini (under-8) and modified (9-12) referees for the season.
Come along, get a rule book, study it, and before you know it you will be refereeing age-group rugby league and enjoying it, too.
Coaches are always wanted, as well.
Mini and modified coaching courses are to be run on April 20, starting at 8.30pm at Jubilee Park. You can register at the gala day for an upcoming coaching course or the April course; text 021887952 to book a place, no later than March 20.
