THE FINALS of the Whangarei Junior Rugby League competition will be held this Sunday at Otaika Park.
After recent weather that has kept the juniors from playing in recent weeks it may be a struggle for the coaches to keep their players focused for their matches this weekend.
The inaugural primary school competition, run by Whangarei organisers, started in early April and has proved encouraging in terms of numbers but it has also thrown up several points of discussion for the organisers ahead of next season.
Several parents would prefer the competition to be held on Saturdays and it will be up to organisers to debate that point with the Whangarei District Council over the off season.
The positions going into the finals are:
Under-6s: Marist/Manaia 1, Takahiwai 2, Portland 3, Hikurangi 4.
