Whangarei Boys' High School professional Richard Kaufman cleaned up in Northland premier grade club cricket this season.
The batting allrounder scored 593 runs during his first season with a New Zealand club, including two tons, along with taking 31 wickets. He was named top player and top professional of the year, as well as club batsman of the year.
The resident player of the year award went to Onerahi's Nic Breslin.
The top bowler award went to another professional, Kaipara Flats' Tauseef Satti, who claimed 37 wickets this season, while Maungakaramea's James Merry's 28-wicket haul earned him the top resident bowler of the year honours.
A high-achieving Boys' High First XI saw the team claim the Twenty20, 50-Over and 55-Over Championships. But the schoolboys only managed third place in the overall club standings, due to the way competition points are weighted. A larger proportion of points are allocated for the two-day championship, and Boys' High missed out on this final played last weekend, between Maungakaramea and Onerahi.
Maungakaramea clinched the two-day championship and the club of the year title after winning first innings points during the match last weekend, giving them the edge over runner-ups Onerahi.
