Bay of Islands College students were once again well represented at the ASB Bank Northland Secondary School Sports Awards, held on Friday night at Genesis Energy Stadium in Whangarei.
The college had nine students selected as finalists in their respective codes and three of them won the top-athlete award in their codes.
Andrew Phillips won recognition as the outstanding athlete in the Boccia code in Northland, while Aubrey Harrison took out the outstanding athlete in this code in boys swimming.
The other regional winner among the group was Ruth Prime, who took out the award for girls volleyball, beating another athlete from the successful Bay of Islands College team, Katherine Ruwhiu, for the overall prize.
Phoebe Perrin was also nominated for girls golf, with Nat Jull for boys rugby, while Estelle Harrison was nominated for girls football, as was Cameron Pene for boys football.
Anaru Thompson was also nominated for boys rugby league.
