Springfield put in a good team effort to shut down an improving Kamo High School side and take a 2-0 win in their reserve men's hockey match.
With both teams evenly placed on the table, the match was set to be close and hard fought.
Springfield captain Neal Martin said his team "worked well and defended hard" and he was happy with the result leading into the end of the season.
Martin said it had been a good season so far despite a number of losses and the win helped his side to secure a better position on the table going into the playoffs in just over a month.
Springfield enjoyed the majority of possession throughout the game on Thursday night but couldn't convert their opportunities with a number of shots going wide of the target.
