What brings you along today? I have been involved in surf lifesaving for a long time.
Are you supporting anyone in particular today? Yes, my club team Muriwai.
Have you been involved with IRB racing yourself. Not personally but I'm a club member at
Muriwai and I've been involved in the sport for the last 42 years. I even got my photo published in your paper at a surf lifesaving carnival at Waipu Cove in 1976.
What sports do you play yourself? I play golf and I swim every day at Muriwai. When I come up to Waipu Cove for a holiday, every second weekend or so, I swim there as well.
Who is the sportsperson that inspires you the most? The person who inspired me the most was probably Leon Spinks, the boxer, who was an absolute underdog and yet he came back and won the heavyweight world championship in the 1980s.
