Northland's top under-23 golfers were led by Kadin Neho and Brooke Kingi as the pair came out on top at Sherwood Park.

In the women's division, Whangaroa's Kingi was poised for a good battle with Jodi Macalister, of Northern Wairoa, who was just two shots back heading into the final round.

However, Kingi proved too good last week with an impressive 38 on the back nine the difference, distancing herself from the rest of the field to win by seven strokes.

The men's division 1 competition was a similar story to the women's. Whangarei's Neho was two strokes ahead going into the final day from Northland Golf Club's Lee Neumann. A front nine 34 in the final round by Neho, against a 39 from Neumann, gave him valuable breathing space, resulting in a comfortable nine-stroke win.

Three players were in contention in men's division 2 with Norton Brown, of Waipu, leading Talor Pattison, of Northland, by two shots and James Hydes, of Peninsula, by three with one round to play. The 15-year-old Brown stayed cool under pressure to win by five shots from Hydes, with Pattison tied third with Steven Lang.

In the 36-hole net competition, Bradley Foster led by 18 strokes heading into Thursday's final round.

Whangaroa club-mate Taylor Wyatt-Logan impressed with a final round 68 net, however it was not enough as Foster held on to win by five.

At the prize-giving, Wiremu Neho, of the Eagles, announced the two boys and one girl who have been selected to represent Northland at the annual Eagles under-17 championship at Manor Park in Wellington.
