Whangarei's Kadin Neho has truly come into his own and announced himself as a genuine up-and-comer in the golfing world.
The Whangarei Boys' High School teenager produced his second top individual effort in a month, finishing in third place at the Muriwai Open to be the top amateur and only four shots back from the winner.
Neho was there or thereabouts throughout the Open, which is part of the Charles Tour, continually asking questions of eventual winner, and New Zealand No1, Michael Hendry.
One would not have expected Neho to come up trumps over Hendry, who is a 33-year-old North Harbour professional, but credit does need to be given to the Northlander.
Hendry carded a three-under-par 69 in the final round to finish on a tournament-record 18 under par total, winning by two shots from Auckland professional Richard Lee.
