Northland's top football team face a David-and-Goliath battle to lift themselves off the bottom of the Northern League Division One table tomorrow at Kamo.
North Force host league leaders Glenfield Rovers knowing that the North Shore side are running hot after two big wins so far in the competition.
But player-coach Scott Burgess said his squad were looking forward to the challenge.
"We always look forward to playing the best teams in the league - and this week's no different. Glenfield are one of the teams to beat and that's what we'd like to do," he said.
If the side could start well and put pressure on the visitors, then they would be in a position to cause an upset.
"Glenfield Rovers will be confident of doing well and hopefully that will turn into overconfidence and if we can put them under early pressure - and we can shoot better than we did last week - then we should be all right," Burgess said.
Rovers have beaten Albany 3-0 and Eastern Suburbs 5-0 so far, while North Force have started their season with two losses.
But there were signs last week against Albany they were beginning to get up to speed in the league.
"We were pleased the way we played in the second spell last week and if we can continue that kind of form this week then we'll do a lot better," Burgess said.
Burgess hoped that the encounter would attract a decent-sized crowd to make the Auckland side feel more isolated on its trip to the North.
