North Force men's goal scoring drought was broken when they drew 2-2 with Eastern Suburbs in the Northern Region Football Federation League Division 1 game at Kamo Sports Park.
The hosts took an early lead in yesterday's clash when midfielder Steve Schimmel put the ball away 15 minutes into the first half.
North Force held on to their narrow lead for the rest of the first half. In the second half however, Eastern Suburbs struck back with two quick goals, catching North Force out with set piece play, but the hosts were not going to give in and they fought back to level the game. With one minute remaining Connor Brown lobbed the ball over the keeper to level the scores.
North Force women put in a solid performance against the visiting West Auckland side, defeating them at Tikipunga, 3-1.
North Force coach Dee Tunstall said it was the first time this season that her side started strongly and maintained their dominance for the entire match in in the Northern Football Federation's premier league competition.
Nikki Couling was the first to find the back of the goal for North Force, heading the ball in from a corner after 15 minutes.
Five minutes later, Sophie Fladgate followed suit with a second goal but West Auckland smartly replied with a goal to close the gap. The satisfying win was sealed with a goal from Zoee Hoy. North Force now turn their attention to the clash with North Shore next weekend..
In the NFF Northland Men's Conference FC Whangarei lost 1-2 to Kamo, Onerahi defeated Bream Bay Flyers, 3-1 and Kerikeri and Tikipunga drew 0-0.
